    Changed drive, still stuck on power up screen

    Hi all,

    I recently purchased a new hard drive for my Series 2 after my Tivo stuck on the "almost there, a few minutes more" screen. I installed the hard drive without a problem, but now I'm still stuck on that same screen. Am I doing something wrong on the install, or could it be a power problem? It starts up without a problem, I never see a black or blue screen, just the grey powering up screen and this one. Any ideas are welcome, I have a lifetime subscription on this box and want it fixed!

    What model TiVo is it? On some models, that can be a problem with a motherboard, as well as a drive problem.

          Well, that unit is pretty well-known for power supply issues. I'd be a bit surprised if this is a bad power supply, but you can try one and return it if it doesn't do the trick. Or you can pay TiVo for a repair, which basically means they'll swap you for a refurbished unit and move your lifetime service over.
