  • DirecTV / HR10-250 issues

Just moved to a new house. Had a new slimline 5 LNB dish installed, Satellite USA wide-band multiswitch too. (WBS41602NF)

Problem - all four feeds off the dish are good. I hook-up the multiswitch and all feeds from multiswitch are good using an old SD Hughes sat receiver to test each port. Hook up my three HR10-250s and get nothing. No signal, either input.

All cabling is new and all test fully OK. Signal loss is not an issue. 25 feet of cable from dish to multiswitch, longest run in house is just over 100 feet.

I hook up two of the HR10-250s straight to the dish using the same cabling and get great signal and picture on both inputs on both receivers. Hook the multiswitch back up and get nothing. No signal to any input.

DTV said I need B-Band converters for all HR10-250 inputs. OK, get them and install them. Same situation. Receivers work fine off the dish, don't work through multiswitch.

Again - the multiswitch works fine on all outputs to my single input SD receivers.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Sounds like you might be using the wrong type of multiswitch. Could that be it? You need a 6x8 or 6x16 with the 5LNB dish.

The multiswitch should be fine. It is the wideband multiswitch meant for the new 5 LNB dishes (Spaun WBS 41602NF).

After making several phone calls today, I'm lead to beleive that Spaun / Satellite USA is having some issues that they aren't quite owning up to. I have a Zinwell wideband multiswitch on order (WB-616). Going to try it and if it works, I'll return the Spaun.

      I'll follow-up when I know something further...

That Spaun is pretty expensive . . . the Zinwell should save you a bunch of cash.
