hard drive failed, transferring exisitng recordings?

I've got to replace the hard drive in my TIVO TCD540080 the screen has frozen while watching live tv. Powering up & down has resulted in no change. Is there anyway to get my saved recordings transferred to the new drive?

Probably not. But just to be clear, are you stuck on "welcome, powering up"? If so, you need a "replace" kit from here:
