    Tivo TCD240040 TCD130040 Hard Drive Swap

    I need to replace the hard drive in my Tivo TCD130040 which has a lifetime subscription. I also have a Tivo TCD240040 with a good hard drive but does not have a lifttime subscription. Will the TCD130040 work of I install the TCD240040 hard drive in it?

    No, the 130040 and 240040 drives are not interchangeable.

      Hi,

      Are the TCD140060 and the TCD130040 drives interchangeable? I've seen you refer to these units as "siblings".

      I have a drive from a TCD130040 which I believe is good, but the TiVo is starting to fail. I'd like to purchase an old TCD140060 and try to put this drive in.

          Thanks for the response; one more question regarding the TCD130040 :

          Your SATA/PATA adapter says this model is not supported. What is the issue with this model? Are you saying that no SATA adapter will work?

          Edit: Is it simply because of the lack of space in the case or is there something inherently incompatible with the adapter? If it's space, the drive can be flipped around if the cables are long enough.
