I recently purchased a 300gb upgrade from Weaknees in an effort to fix what I figured was a failing hard drive in my Hughes HDVR2 TiVo. The DVR was having major pixellation issues on both tuners. Pixellation varied from intermittent to extremely frequent. I installed the new hard drive, which was simple thanks to the fantastic instruction provided by Weaknees. After installing the new hard drive, the problem seemed to go away, or at least was improved (it was hard to tell since we had been having some bad storms during those first few days), but it now seems the pixellation is alive and well. Audio cuts out as well. I have an identical HDVR2 on another television in the house (which has not been upgraded) which has not been having any pixellation problems.
So, what is the next step? I have a beautiful new hard drive in a HDVR2 that I love...and want to keep running if at all possible since the new DirecTV DVR's are apparently worthless...but I would rather not record over 200 hours of pixellated, garbled programs.
The connections on the back of the DVR are tight.
Please help!!!
