A friend saw my series 2 and tivohd while visiting and said "I have one of those that had lifetime but has been sitting in a closet for a year or so because it wouldnt get past the powering up screen".
So I told her to bring it over I could probably get it running again. Im assuming hard drive failure and will order a replacement from here but now my question is once I put the new drive in will it just dial in and resume its account status and activity.
As I understand it will be at "guided setup" will it ask for specific account information to take it through the setup and get it fully operational or will say just the serial number be enough or will it identify itself when it dials in to set all of that.
Id rather just hand it back to her ready to go and need to know if I need info from her or if I can just go ahead and boot it up and walk it all the way through guided setup after I drop the drive in.
Thanks for any info.
