Hey all. I have a question about my Tivo. I did a quick search and unfortunately didn't find anything to help, so please excuse me if this is a common topic.
My girlfriend decided to rearrange my bedroom yesterday. While I was in there I had noticed she put my first (now my second system) Tivo on the floor. I asked her to be very careful with it on the carpeted floor. As we're moving things she proceeded to put her foot on the top corner of the Tivo and slide is across the carpet, only about a foot, still plugged in and on. Of course I could have been nicer in the way I handled this. But it gets better. I no have the dresser, TV, and Tivo all set and done. I'm back in the living room with the baby when I hear this god awful buzzing/scrapping sound from he bedroom. I go in to see what it is and find her holding the Tivo just looking at me. I'm guessing in moving the TV again she banged the Tivo and knocked something. Well I unplug it wait a few minutes, praying I don't have to kill her, and plug it back in. All is fine, for about a minute and the noise starts up again. I try this a couple of times, praying to the Tivo Gods, but no luck. After I give up and let the noise happen the Tivo starts to click, like a hard drive stuck. This is the first Tivo I had gotten, and it has a lifetime subscription, so I don't want to lose it. Does this sound like it may just need a hard drive? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
