I'm trying to upgrade my Parents-in-Law Sony SVR-2000. I meant to order a 160Gb upgrade to REPLACE the single internal drive, instead I ordered the ADDITIONAL drive configuration. I should preface with I have previously upgraded my own SVR-2000 using the Weaknees Replacement drive kit; I've never added a second drive.
Now actually this may work to my favor as my parents-in-law would like to keep some current programming, settings, etc.
So here's my question....
If in the future, they want to migrate completely to the new drive, would that be difficult? I assume that's easy--particularly if I am successful in backing up the current drive. The reason I ask is the original internal drive seems slow to me and I think it could be on it's last legs.
So should I add the drive I have, or exchange the drive for a single drive configuration?
The reason for the urgency is my parents-in-law are just in town for the holiday.
Thanks all!
