    Instantcakes Question...

    I have used the Instantcakes software cd's for some time now with primo results especially when I purchased Tivo dvr's that were broken (bad drives).
    Most of my Instantcakes cd's require the user after the image is written to the new tivo drive to perform a "clear and delete everything" procedure to prepare the drive for the new Tivo it is going into. Question:
    Is there a sofware cd that can be used right after the drive is finished with the instantcakes application that can bring the newly imaged drive back to "box-stock" condition - freeing myself from having to go through the time consuming procedure of the CLEAR AND DELETE process because especially the Directivo units can take up to 4 hours to finish this clear and delete process. HELP!!!!

    We really don't know much about that software - that isn't produced by us.

    We do know that none of our drives require the user to do a clear and delete - we set that here on all of them before we send the drives out, so you just install our drives, and they're ready to go; no waiting.

      Thank you for your quick reply! Ok, let's put it another way... Forget I used the word: INSTANTCAKES. Lets say that I imaged a drive myself using MFSTOOLS - and copying a working drive off of my Directivo HR10-250 HD dvr. Now I want to convert this newly imaged drive back to BRAND-NEW-JUST BOUGHT-STOCK-STATE and without all of the specific data that was already on the original drive. Is there a cd software that i can run immediately after this imaging process that brings the drive back to OUT-OF-THE-BOX-ORIGINAL STATE CONDITION? My musing about the internet a few years back reminds me of something I read of a software type that does just that. Any help? Thank you Michael

        You'd really still have to do the "clear and delete everything."
