Just a quick question or two regarding a Sony SVR 2000
a few weekends ago I was watching the TV and TiVo was recording the same station, then as I depressed the back button the screen went to a snowy picture. Resetting the unit by removing the power cord the TV screen stays snowy, the green power light is on and the fan is running. I replaced the coax connection with the Red, yellow and white cabling. No change. Depressing the remote key does not cause the power light to change colors. Does this sound like I need a new hard drive? I would like to keep the unit as it has a lifetime subscription.
It was suggested that the power supply might be bad so I ordered one from weakees and put it in. The same thing happens. So before sending the supply back I would like to measure the voltage output of the original supply to confirm that I do have power. Can someone tell what voltages I should see on what wires? +12, 5 and ground.
Also If I disconnect the hard drive could there be a possibility that the hard drive is not spinning and causing the snowy screen or is the boot-up screen located on the mother board.
Any other suggestions?
ToVo sure makes life a lot easier
Thanks
