    Tivo Glo Remote - Worth it?

    Folks,

    I LOVE Tivo's remotes, for that I'm in the majority. Frankly I like my old Philips Series 1 remote BETTER than the newer, longer one that I got for my wife.

    That said, that nifty new remote has me intrigued....I'd love to hear some opinions of those who've used it as to whether it's worth buying one. Also nothing is too petty - remotes are things of detail, even if the color (black vs white) is a factor, please feel free to chime in on it. I'd love to hear your opinions before I buy.

    Tivo-Glo remote

    I've had my Phillips DSR704 DTV Tivo for more than 2 years and I need a new remote. I've worn mine down to the case, and it's beginning not to function properly.

    OH MY GAWD !!! I'm totally lost without it man. Believe it or not, I just learned how to program it for 30 second skip. I've been FF all this time. What a dips###. But, you know, I found this info out by searching the weaknees forums. So, this is a good thing.

    My question: Does the Tivo-Glo remote support 30 second skip, or would I be stuck with using the FFWD? This is important. If I'm going to shell out $50 on a remote, I need to know. The backlight is a cool thing. I can definitely use it. Since I would have to spend $50 on the original replacement remote, I might as well get one that has a backlight. I have rechargeable batteries. Batteries are not an issue.

      The glo has the "Advance" button which is used for the 30-second skip. No problelm there.
