I ordered a Humax DTR400 with the 350 hour drive, and the drive is significantly louder than my other TiVos. The seeking is easily audible across the room when performing any action, where the stock drive in a 40hr TiVo Series 2 is effectively silent with the ambient noise in the room. Is this normal noise for the drives used for that upgrade, or does it sound like there could be a problem? Thanks.

That could be a drive problem, or it could be a drive mounting problem. Have you tried just uninstalling and reinstalling it? It may be the tightness of the screws - they should just be snug.Been here a long time . . . -
No, it's just out of the box from Weaknees at this point (it was purchased upgraded). Does opening the case to do that have any effect on the Weaknees warranty?Comment

Locked up 3 times
This TiVo has locked up 3 times now since the 13th, with a frozen image on screen (appears to be whatever was on livetv when it froze), unresponsive to any inputs, and needing the power removed to reset. Unfortunately the problem is not just noise related. What's the next step for getting this fixed?Comment
