Is it possible to use the 80gb hard drive (Western Digital) from a Samsung SIR-S4080R in a new SeriesII DRT400 (or any newer DVR)? I want to get a new unit and pull some of the video off of the old S4080R. Is it as simple as swapping the drives?

I would think if you had the 2 units attached to a network using the TiVo ToGo software you could tranfer files from 1 unit to the other. The old unit wouldn't even have to be connected to a TV output or cable input, just to the network.Comment

That's right, but DirecTV units don't support TiVoToGo. So if you had two that supported TiVoToGo, that would work.Been here a long time . . .Comment
