hello,
I own a Pioneer DVR-810H that I have been using in conjunction with a DIRECTV H10 receiver. Channel changing was accomplished with an IR control cable (connected to the DVR) and emitter placed (taped) over the IR sensor of the H10. This setup has worked fine withotu any problems with reliability.
However, I am now in the process of upgrading the H10 to the MPEG-4 compatible DIRECTV H20 and have run into a problem. The IR emitter placed over the IR sensor of the H20 does not change the channels. Interestingly, if I hold the flasher a foot or so away from the H20, it does change the channels -- although somewhat erratically. But this solution is not practical. I have tried several different IR emitters (including a Niles IR microflasher) with the same results. (A tech rep at Pioneer was familiar with the problem but offered no solution.)
Anyone else have experience with this problem?
Thanks,
George
