I have a PHILLIPS DSR700 DTV series 2 TIVO that was working like a charm after several years. I moved and it got here fine until it got back into my paws. I hadn't "moved" my DTV service yet, but I was going to just hook up the Tivo to watch some recorded shows. Then I dropped it at least 4'. Bummer.
After hooking it up the only problem is I get the "insert access card" message. I opened the case and the dark grey part of the card holder that mounts to the board had broken and that was it (one of the 2 pegs that hold it to the board came loose. If I manually hold it in place it still gives me the error.
Any advice on how to assess what is going on? Could a drop have done anything to the card? Or maybe the move?
I have a series 1 Tivo too if that would be of any value in troubleshooting.
